Okay, I planned on going to bed but after reading Batter Up I couldn't resist another little short fic from Kasman. I LOVE how you portray them. Makes me want to visit Niagara Falls too. :)

Again a very enjoyable day in the life of the Cale family. I like the way they've grown together and became one.

I wonder how Max is realizing her little paradise. Considering how she has grown up and spent her youth, I assume she would never have guessed to be once "blessed" with this "new" life of hers!

I've been to Niagara Falls many times (having grown up only an hour or so away from them) but never bothered with the Maid of the Mist ride. Now I might consider it. You made it sound like fun.
Do you think Max and Logan went to Niagara-on-the-Lake? I'm just imagining Logan trying to keep up with Max as she goes from shop to shop. Or maybe a winery tour? Sounds like a Logan thing to do, doesn't it? :)

Glad to see your trip was well spent... Yet another fantastic piece of writing, made me feel that if I ever get to Niagra then I'll be able to see M/L and Ben with me.

It's been years since I was last to the falls. I remember having my pic taken with Dad in a barrel going over the falls. I was sick and it looked like I was dying as the fake barrel was being bounced off the rocks in the background mural... Dad laughed his butt off at me that day.

It was a good time though. It's one absolutely fantastic spectacle and the falls are truly one of nature's greatest gifts.

Now, the story. You write these family way things so well. I'm fascinated by the predicaments you come up with for them to deal with. I'm assuming this trip is the one where Eva came from perhaps? Truth is, I can't remember if you mentioned it or not, but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of this story.

Like where the possibilities are pointing with this. Looking forward to more and waiting just less that casually for the next installment of Blessings as well. Later.

As much as I am a major Blessings fan, I loved this peek backwards in time, and hope you do more of them. I'd actually be interested in seeing some of worried!Logan during some of the rougher parts of Max's pregnancy. Or even nervous papa during Ben's early years. ;)

I thought it was really interesting that you mentioned that Logan still has his prejudices even after all this time in a wheelchair himself. I wonder why he holds on to them still?

Overall, at the end, I was right there with Max - so happy that their vacation had been wonderful, yet sad that it had to end.

I should have known your own travel experiences would appear in Blessings in one form or another. ;) I'm glad your vacation was inspiring.

This might just be me, but I wonder whether the paragraph about the yacht might have been better placed a bit later in the chapter--maybe when they boarded the Maid of the Mist. While I was reading, I felt like most of the long, reflective paragraphs were sort of bunched in the middle of the chapter. Moving said paragraph would spread those out and would also put the flashback, as it were, closer to its counterpart in the present-day action. Of course, you probably had a good reason for putting it where you did, so I'll say no more about it. :)

I had actually started to write my own fic about that trip, but it would never have been this good, so I'm glad you wrote it!And when will the next chapter of Blessings be posted?
