saralinda 2009-02-27 . chapter 1Ed's Tomato pointed me to your story, I thought the characterization was hot and excellent and wondrous. I'll read more of your stuff when I get the time, it's worth it.
Cheers! |
Random Passerby 2007-06-03 . chapter 1 This is wonderful, but it feels unfinished. I suppose I was waiting for some sort of culmination of their stories, perhaps just a brief scene between them where they awkwardly thank each other, or Leo checks up on Raph and Raph shortly says he's fine, Leo says, "Good," there's silence, and they make excuses to leave. I'm not sure exactly what I would write there, but I did want their stories to come together at the end and give the story a sense of completion. I loved it otherwise, thought it was marvelously in-character and didn't make it too complex of an issue. It's lovely, and I wouldn't change a word of it. I might marry this story if it could sign a contract. It's just..sort of Goldilocks. Not too much, not too little, not too deep, not shallow, not too dark, not too fluffy, but just right. Good job! |
Ed's Tomato 2007-04-07 . chapter 1Ah! I read this like a million years ago and fell in love with it, and then prompltly lost it for all time. Luckily for me, someone on stealthystories pointed it out again and now you are bookmarked! TRY ESCAPING NOW!
But seriously. I've always loved this. I never get sick of the Raph/Leo dynamic. |
Kimmy.Tosh 2007-03-25 . chapter 1Again, wonderful use of the characters to prove a very real point.
I also liked the way the story unfolded from the first person but from both Raph and Leo. And there's a subtle twist too - when Leo hits the water you think it's going to be him that's in 'danger', but it's not.
Inadvertantly and, despite the tension between them, they both care for the other deeply and that comes across here in the form of Raph's attempt to find Leo and Leo's realisation at the end. I would've loved to read what was actually going through Raph's head when he spoke about being 'lucky', I have a feeling it runs much deeper than either of them suspect.
Well done! A super read!

The Ghost of FF. Net 2006-02-12 . chapter 1This was awesome. Great story-telling and wonderful characterization. |
Jaganashi 2005-06-02 . chapter 1I know that this was published some time ago, but that doesn't make it a lesser read. I simply loved the two POVs you had going...their thoughts, sometimes mirrored and sometimes completely out of synch. Great job! |
Sassyblondexoxo 2005-03-27 . chapter 1Man...if only we could get author's like you back onto this site. This is one of my very favorites Alex - please come back to writing...I'm getting darn sick of reading about TMNT meets Mary Sue!

Reinbeauchaser 2005-03-05 . chapter 1Excellent one-shot. Wonderful character development between Leo and Raph. You've nailed their personal conflict rather well.
However, you've also managed to beautifully peel back the layers of their conflict to show what truly lies beneath.
Two brothers who care about each other, even risking death in order to insure the other's safety.
Great job.
However, it looks as if you've taken a bit of a break from writing. Sometimes that happens, yet you add so much to this fandom, it's a shame we haven't heard from you in a while.
Either way, be blessed. |
