| My-Sanity-Went-B00m- 2008-07-26 ch 1,  | abuseYou know, I never quite hated Scarlet. But then, I never quite hated Yazoo and Rosso either. And not just for Fangirl reasons, either. Yes, yes, Yazoo is absolute Man-Candy and Rosso is the sex, but they just seem like there's more there than the Man-Candy and Sex. Same with Scarlet, I mean, not even Shin-Ra is stupid enough to hire her for the sex appeal. Just take a look at the Turks before FFVII, (maily Vincent), proof that Shinra can atleast get it's elite right. The new ones too. People don't give these guys enough credit. Just because they're "Bad Guys" and SEEM like they have no clue how to be efficient bad guys doesn't mean a thing. Just look at the "Good" Guys! Who could WIN against them? /Everyone/ ends up looking like an idiot next to Cloud and the Gang. And So ends my explanation of why I liked this fic. Tell me if I meade sence. ~Sanity~ |

I would say, on the Shin-Ra executive occurence of fics, Rufus would be the obvious first, then Hojo , then Reeve, and Heidegger. Scarlet is the bottom of the list. This fic finally puts her on the map, and what a beautiful debut it is! Rather coarse, gives a detailed and believable background, and written in her voice, showing she's discontent for a good reason, all the while while keeping her in perfect character, letting the reader both sympathize with her but still feel contempt towards her. It's a sad story, how she finds out where superficial gets you-it's also interesting how she at first excelled academically. It's a sad story. I read one of the reviews for this and I completely agree that you deserve much credit. Way to go for being bold!! |
