The story was really great.
I have to say that I did read the reviews before reading it, and have to say that some people just can't get over the whole B/A thing, he LEFT her and not just once, but three times. Spike left once and that was to get his soul after he realized exactly what he'd done to Buffy, and he'd promised himself that he wouldn't hurt her. He didn't go to Africa just to win her, he went because he didn't want to hurt her anymore than he already did. Angel just kept hurting her, not intentionally, but he did.
I do have to agree with one reviewer though, I think that B/A will always love each other, because who ever really quits loving their first love? Even if it was only in friendship, they'll always love each other in some way, shape or form.
I am a die hard Spuffy fan, but I do see the whole B/A thing for what it is. Hell, I'd rather see her with Xander than Angel, only because he stuck around when he didn't have too. He could have went and had the normal life, elsewhere, but he stayed because he loved his friends enough to be there for them. Angel left at times when she really needed him. Like right after the big fight with the Mayor, then when her mother died, and he didn't even see fit to tell her he was in town during the Thankgiving from hell.
God I know this is long, but I had to try and get my point across.
