  Joe Fenton 9/7/03 . chapter 1 That was rather funny, and Ranma would be the one to say something like that. However, there wouldn't be any problem with Ayeka marrying Tenchi in any country on Earth. Their relationship is way too distant. Second cousins is the rule in many places, and first cousins are fine in Japan without consent, and with a judge's consent in the US. Jerry Lee Lewis married his first cousin. The reason for laws concerning how close relations can be to allow marriage and/or children is STRICTLY to prevent genetic diseases. Given that the Juraians are well beyond the level of technology needed to prevent genetic defects, there would be no prescriptions as to relationships. The same will be true here on Earth in the next hundred years as biotechnology advances. It will take a little time for cultural fixations to catch up with medical technology, but it will happen eventually. Planet of the Hillbillies - WAHAHAHAHAHA! That was great! |
