I like the basic idea of this story. It would be interesting to see how Optimus handles such a group.

But I see a few problems here:

- The reason why the Rejects are sent is... thin. And I don't know if Optimus would let them fight at all, they are cannon fodder at best without any training. The entire story would work better if you'd come up with a better reason, it would make your readers care more about the characters. Maybe it's some sort of rehabilitation program, or these 'Rejects' already have proven to be a capable fighting group.
This leads me to a second problem: Your group of rejects "care for each other" after an extremly short period of time. That is highly unusual, especially considering their various backgrounds. It would be more believable (and more interesting) if you'd describe the process of how they formed such a tight-knit group, what made them care, what brought changes in their thoughts about each other.

The basic character setups are okay, but it would pay off if you'd take a bit more time to introduce them before giving them a victory (even if it's just a small one). They are fighting a war, and if you aren't careful, you will get killed... which is a lesson your robots should learn very fast, or at least feel the consequences of. Or: You stop kidding around pretty fast if you get your butt sizzled, and your friends get injured or killed.
Formatting: There are some paragraphs that are meshed together and hard to read.

Language. Try to avoid to write as you speak in the narrative parts. Narrative is for setting up emotions in the reader, prepare for what is to come, the ver ybackbone of the story. It works better if you treat it that way, with the proper respect. :)

Well... all in all, it is an interesting attempt to bring across a new idea. Keep on writing.
