as much as i hate to say it, you said you were trying to keep true to the manga so Garfakcy needs to get hurt, like in book 6+8. It would actually fit in.

The Rath-Cesia relationship is quite interesting at this point. I disagree with darksaphire, I think you handled Rath's character very well. It's true that he acts different when confronted with Kharl.

great story! even if im a fan of the "dark" couple...but hey ur story is good too! The dark couple im referring to is rath and nadil...i like dark characters being together...it justmakes for a good story!

As yaoi/shounen ai goes, I'm not an expert, but this sounds good so far. The whole Rath/Gar/Kharl thing piqued my interest from the summary on, and the AU fact is even more tantalizing.
