So who was that girl in the last chapter? Juliet? Emily?
The dramatic emotional subplot was rather spiffy, although you did sort of overplay "losing that one true love" part. You could have been a tad more subtle, it would have been neat. But very spiffy; perhaps in the future stories you can have flashbacks to the Artemis/Alanis and how they met; etc, and Arty can get all angsty and depressed!
And it's ALANIS! *gasps and checks publication date* I don't mind, but is it a funny coincedink? Teehehe. ^_^ I like how Arty almost thought she was a faerie (although that's how I spell it, Colfer spells it fairy >_< and I am inclined to follow the Canon. But spiffy that you spell it that way too!)

Great start! The writing style is terrific and the story is intruiguing enough. The coffin riddle is nice, but could have been done in a more forboding fashion; something starting was Colfer's line, use a different spiffy one. Like "the beginning of something." Or come up with a spiffier one. ^_^

I bet they can only bring back one person. And they have to choose between Alanis and Holly's father, so she gives it to him, to let him bring back his one true love. How SWEET!
Did I come even close to the plot, or is this just another theory of mine? (If you didn't think of that, and like it, then feel free to use it, just don't tell anyone!! I don't want to know what happens till you get it posted! I doubt you'll use my theory, though. You probably have something else planned.)

kool i like it! interesting about the dragons and i like the riddles, was the answer to the one about children read about it, adults don't believe it, teenagers don't care for it and faeries have it, was that magic? im not in a clever mood at the moment my brain has switched off, and it took me ages to come to an answer! :) upadate soon!
