| SpiritualEnergy 2006-06-09 ch 1, | abuseI really liked this. Very creative and showed a different side to both Rei and Kai. It really made me think. Great job! |

| Munku-JGSPTV 2004-05-01 ch 1, | abuseWow!! I know this is old, but I only just saw it now... I really like it, and I needed to read a good one-shot. They are nice and perfectly in character, and nothing hugely dramatic happens, but it's so interesting. This is why I had you on my favs. list. :) I also haven't read Beyblade fics for a while, so this was nice to read a good one. thankee. Munku-JGSPTV ^_^ |
| chai 2003-12-25 ch 1, anon. | abuseWow... this fic certainly deviates from the flow of Beyblade fanfiction that we're getting now. It's nice and... different, and for that I applaud you~ (NOTE: this review is a result of chai's need to obsess over ((and later use for her own malicious purposes)) Akai-sama in order to get into the community of amazing writer's over at Redblade.org) (NOTE: NOTE: chai kindly requests that you ignore the above 'NOTE:' and go on with your day. Thank you.) |
| Redex 2003-10-20 ch 1, | abuseHey! I've reviewed Senses basicly because I adore your style of writing. It's very discriptive and almost perfectionistic. I think I'm going to copy it in one of my fics sooner or later. I like the simplicity of this one-shot. It's very easy, just an exersize. I personnally never beta anyting I write just because I don't care. If I like it, that's good enough for me. Anyways, off topic... I like how you've kept the charectors very much in charector, and am wondering after a continuation? Anyways, you have Porticullus to thank for plugging you when I was getting very annoyed with a chapter I still haven't finished. -_-' (Sorry, Porti) So, I'm very looking forward to another chapter of Senses, maybe another one for this, and will go see what else you have written! I always reaview, so you'll know if I'm reading or not. Loads of love, Red |
| JuliTina 2003-10-09 ch 1, | abuse*glomps* I particularly liked the end of your chapter, >Uninspiring, insulting and blunt as he may be, Kai was also someone worth listening to. > Uninspiring and yet worth listening to makes you pause and think more carefully. I really don't know what to say apart from the fact this is one of my favourite stories from you. Diamond Dew and Ishshi have already said most of the opinions I have on this, and to say I loved it would be an understatement. ^^ |
| Porticulis 2003-10-08 ch 1, | abuseDon't put yourself down... you're not a self- promoter, you're just proud of your works. I'll try to fork out some time to read your fics but I'm just horribly laden with work. Well I enjoyed this fic- not that I have to state the obvious. Love, Porticulis. |
| I R PinkCake 2003-10-06 ch 1, | abuse^_^ Lovely!! I think that, even though Kai can be cold and off-setting, Rei and the others listen to him anyway... Maybe its his personality. I dunno, but if I was there, I would sure listen to him! Like I said, lovely fic!! |
| dewpoint 2003-10-06 ch 1, | abuseAs I'm sure you know, I'm a big fan of fics that explore the relationships (not necessarily romantic) between characters. This is a prime example; the first encounter between Rei and Kai following the regional finals. "He had a scar. Just a long, pale echo, it blended in naturally with his sun-starved complexion and was completely invisible from a distance." This is a great opening. The first short statement grabs you, and the second, longer sentence is nicely descriptive. I especially love the idea of a scar being an "echo" of a wound. "Rei had first met the man who would become his mentor when he was just seven years old, one of many prospects on a worldwide talent search initiated by the BBA." I like the background on Rei's relationship with Mr. Dickenson; the man really seems to treat him as sort of a surrogate son (or nephew at least) and it's interesting to think that they could have known each other for a very long time. "Not once had he imagined that such a team could possibly be headed up by someone as antisocial, arrogant and rude as Kai." I love this. Not only because it's a perfect description of Kai as he appears at the beginning of the series, but because the way it's put is very much Rei. He's not the sort to sugarcoat his thoughts or to make excuses for someone else; he's too honest for that. "He stood up. Why is that a big deal? Rei thought. He had faced down numerous people when beyblading, fighting, even just talking - but Kai stood up and Rei closed his mouth." This is my favourite part of the fic. I can't say exactly why, but it just seems so true to both their characters. "That settled it. Uninspiring, insulting and blunt as he may be, Kai was also someone worth listening to. Which meant that Rei had some serious work to do." And I love the ending. Again, excellent characterisation, and very well expressed. Rei's honest enough to admit when he's wrong, and it's shown time and again in the first series that when Kai says something, it's usually important. This is a lovely stand-alone piece, but I really hope you add more to it; I'd love to see your take on their relationship later in the series. |
| Jedi Princess Clarrisani 2003-10-05 ch 1, | abuseExcellent stuff Akai, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Sometimes the old stuff we forgot about can turn out to be a true gem amongst the rockery. Loved it. |
| laisidhiel 2003-10-05 ch 1, | abusevary nice |
| Ishshi 2003-10-04 ch 1, | abuse"The best team the BBA had to offer... It had been a tempting thought, even back when everything in his world was insisting that he wanted to stay with his family and friends. Having finally left and calmed the itch in his feet, Rei had been very eager to find out exactly what the best team the BBA had to offer would be like." This line just got me plain =excited=. I don't know why, but the butterflies began to flutter in my stomach, and this grin plastered itself on to my face. Lovely line, it really brings out the feel of Rei's character, his childishness and everything else about him that the fans can't help but adore. Besides, it gives us such a human insight on his past. I don't think I'm making much sense... "Not once had he imagined that such a team could possibly be headed up by someone as antisocial, arrogant and rude as Kai." LOVE the description here on Rei's behalf! It's just so true and different from what this fandom has been shown on countless occassions. Kai is a little **, but we all love him for it! I'm glad SOMEONE finally wrote it. [ Well, another one since I'm sure Dew has done it on many occassions. ^^; ] "Curiosity firmly in place, Rei sat next to him as quietly as possible, drawing on the skills he'd picked up in hide-and-seek all those years before." Too cute! It seems like such a perfect reason for why Rei is always a stealthy person or portrayed as one. It sounds so natural when attached to the character of Rei, and I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't far off. "Rei groaned inwardly. Great, he thought. Dripping with sarcasm, just the way I like my team leaders." *Laughs* God I love this Rei! ^_^ *Huggles Akai's!Rei* "Ordered around, and then dismissed - just like a servant. It was everything Rei had heard about rich kids confirmed." The Ties that Bind anyone? ;D "From where I sat, it looked like he used some pretty serious tactical thinking to beat you." OUCH! That has got to hurt! Though, I can completely see Rei saying such a blunt and honest thing in response to Kai. Hm... are you also a cocky!Rei fan I wonder? (DEW! We've caught ourselves another!) "That settled it. Uninspiring, insulting and blunt as he may be, Kai was also someone worth listening to. Which meant that Rei had some serious work to do." GORGEOUS! I absolutely adored this piece of writing Akai! The verbal banter, the cutting remarks, the lovely descrition, the nearly FLAWLESS characterization, the flow, the plot, the m... tastefulness. Absolutely lovely. Kai... god Kai was about as close to Kai as you could get and Rei, well Rei was just lovely. *Huggles* Can I have your brain? Hm? Please? You can have mine with all of my perverse Balkov/Yuri thoughts! Ain't it a grande deal? ;D Once again, I loved this, and you really ought to be proud of this piece. Probably one of the best pieces of work that contains a non-relationship Kai/Rei. Had this been a first chapter of an ongoing fic, I would love to see how such different characters get together in the end. ~_^ Well, I'm clean out of comments, I'll leave it to rest, but I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed reading this piece. *Flying Tackle Glomps* Ish. |
| JayX 2003-10-04 ch 1, | abuse(whistles) NOt bad...character traits kept in check, with a bit of hidden sarcasm/indulgence. A good balance.(smiles) Please continue...it's a great start. |
| keisan 2003-10-04 ch 1, | abuseI really liked that, sort of contemplative rather than some sort of adventure or romance or anything. Very nicely done! Ja! |
