I was hoping that you'd make Harry the one that talks to snakes, just to add a twist onto the theories of cannon characters about how Harry can speak Parseltongue. But you just reinforced their theories... (pouts)

So did the older three children blackmail Sirus to let them stau up late or eat all of the sweets they wanted for their silence, and is that why Lily wouldn't let him babysit anymore.

I loved this chapter, like all the chapters that you do, but yet again I am reminded of the different views of characters. In my opinion, Hermione's parent's wouldn't keep a five year old from toys. I do agree with her parents teaching her how to read and write (I taught myself around that age), but even so. I love reading your fanfiction, and even though I would have done things differently, you are clearly one of the best writers I have seen. I await your next chapter.

Aww, that was truly adorable. One thing I wanted to mention though, in your author notes, you said that the book was published in 1989, about a month before Hermione was born. Hermione was actually born in 1979 (Harry and Neville in 1980). I don't know if you just said that cuz of the canon for your story, but I thought I'd point it out, just in case. :)

Hmm... this was quite the interesting and believable chapter.

Hermione is quite lovely as the put out girl, but it's quite strange that she commands such power over the boys. Then again, she IS quite bossy... so it ain't that strange.

Lily should know better than to let Sirius babysit under any circumstance...

Yay! So I really like what you've written so far, you have a very fun-to-read writing style, almost no type-os, and the story itself is really good. Me gusta.

I'm really excited to see how this develops. Is this the new trio? No Ron? And how long do you plan on taking this? Through Hogwarts? That would be so much fun :)

I like this chapter. It expands so much on the Hermione we know, and it's all very believable, especially since JKR wanted to give Hermione a little sister but never did get around to it.

I hope things continue to improve for Hermione.

That was sweet - Hermione crying over her old doll (though I think a teddy would have been preferable), and her normally wanting/forced to be a grown-up. And her lying to authority figures starts early - great!
