Cetainly an interesting idea.

Tolkien seems not to have used many of the myths of Elves I read. (Nor the woodwoses, which are more complicated.)

Re the popular idea of elves not liking iron, yes, its simply not true. elves `do` have blacksmiths (I myself have visited an elven smithy in Derbyshire...some day I will write on that fastinating experience)

Again, I both love and hate your Maedhros. I must thank you for correcting my pronounciation of his name. This is also a fascinating look at the Easterlings -- that was certainly unexpected!

I've read this again, Lipstick, and it's better the second time round. The 'I have to use your bushes' bit got me, I laughed like mad. Of course elves have to attend to their natural functions same as we mere mortals.

Another marvellous touch was the berry juice he'd used to darken his hair is coming off. I'd forgotten that Maedhros and Maglor are supposed to have disguised themselves when they stole the last two silmarils.

Wonderful story again, I just love your Maedhros.

And cool idea to put the Quendi face to face with trditional faerie myths--they are probably lucky that he was rather out of it at first. Though he might have just laughed in their faces.
I really enjoyed this. You must lean on Red more often for stories.

Fantastic, as always. I particularly like the the way you show us the story Uldor's betrayal from the Easterling's point of view. I wonder if the old woman has any idea of the signifigance of Maedhros's forgiveness, of what it cost him.
