so thats why the title of this series is called dark star. i like your despription about the clouds, it was so vivid. heck i could picture what was going on so well

You write so well from a dark perspective, which is really hard to do for most (my villians are usually too wishy washy).

I have a request (if you take them :) ). A little clip from Piccolo's POV somewhere in the three years after he is born and before he fights Goku for the first time. Maybe addressing the inner-struggle of the inherited rage he has for the Saiyan. It's his duty to kill Goku-yet something inside him goes against that grain...

*raises accusatory eyebrow* If this is the prequel to an epic, where is the rest of it? This is the only story I have found, to date, with Daimaou Piccolo - unless it's a poor excuse for a humour story where he gets an ice cream high or something ... I must be the only Daimaou fan out here. He's a Nameksejin, and he's evil! What's not to love, right? Anyhow, this vignette was amazing. The characters were bang-on, and for once, Kami-sama actually has a personality - not just the 'I'm so holy' act that he pulls whenever Piccolo is around. You are truly the master of the genre of little-used characters! And Nameksejins, as well! *bows* If you ever DO consider continuing this, O Masterful Sensei of Fiction, (no sarcasm!), you must e-mail me - - okay? _ This was fantastic!

Wonderful story, Onyx! I hadn't read it for awhile, and I must say it's just as refreshing the second time! The characterization and reflection completely dazzled me! I loved it! The darkness, the symbolism, the history, the way the two of them are so diffrent... it's amazing. I try to use the original child (I call him Damaiou, since he needs a name) in my story, but there's a sort of subtle elegance here I just can't capture. /. and, by chance, are you the same Onyx who wrote "Dark star" at 'mamono-shakuhachi'? if so... that's a good thing *grins*

Lovely imagery. This seems a very plausible idea of what happened to the original Namek, and the characterizations of the two opposites is also very believable. Also of interest was the reason for the Namek's anger toward humans. I hope you write more.
