Please, please continue writing this story. I haven't seen the other inspiring film (I have seen A.I.), but I am intrigued and impressed by your smooth combination of storylines and fine storytelling skills. I will follow this fic to the end, so please keep it up!

Interesting and well written Joshua. The concept of concious programs roaming around inside a virtual enviroment has shades of David Brin's "Earth". I really like the Dark City reference. It adds a subtext to whatever conflict you are building. Now I have an itch to see that film again.

You did a good job of the first/third person shift too. That's something that has to be handled just right to pull it off and you're weaving the segments nicely.

This work has all the technical elements of hard sci-fi, but there is a emotional tone brought on by the tragic nature of the protagonist that captures the essence of the film from which the characters were inspired.

Sorry it took so long to respond to this, it's a good story and I am looking foreward to reading more.
