SpringFlower 2008-05-20 . chapter 9*pokes* Are you still alive?
Well, anyways, I know you're busy and all, and I totally respect that. Update the story any time you want. Just know that avid fans are waiting for an update, and every day that you don't give us one a part of our soul dies.
I would just like to say that this story has to be one of the best stories I have read on this entire site. And believe me, I've spent hours on this site (because I have absolutely no life =D). I've been in so many different fandoms, so many different stories, and have been in so many different genres. And your story just blows anything else out of the water.
I'd like to point out that you are able to amazingly portray Prince Sesshoumaru's feelings in this fic. Whenever I thought of Sesshoumaru before this, I always thought that he must have felt a little lonely or sad while his father was off with Izayoi. I never saw anyone else really put such sadness and loneliness in a story as well as you have, or have showed his emotions so well.
I think that you are able to really bring up some valid thoughts in here. I mean, I can totally see where Sesshoumaru is coming from when he pushes Izayoi away. Obviously, she's a human, and those kind of people killed his mother. Not only that, but he believes them weak and inferior. And he probably feels as if she's trying to take his mother's place, which is kinda what she's trying to do. So it's only natural for him to push her away. But then, I also see Izayoi's side of the story, too. I mean, here she is, in a pretty foreign environment - youkai everywhere, a new home, and a son of the man she loves that she never end heard about! She must be slightly confused as well, and unsure of what to do. She also must be anxious to prove herself to be worthy of being Inutaisho's wife, and she wants to connect with Sesshoumaru too.
And then you bring up the father/son action so well, too. Again, I can see both sides beautifully. Sesshoumaru, hurt and confused as to why his father is pushing him away. He's neglected, and abused, and he's still mourning for his mother. In this view, his father is a total jackass. However, when you view it from Inutaisho's viewpoint... he probably sees Sesshoumaru as a reminder of the mistake he made of not coming to his former wife's aid. He lashes out at Sesshoumaru because he DOES constantly remind him of his mistakes. And then he also lashes out because everything is breaking apart around him - his empire is falling apart because of his relations with the human woman, and he has a hanyou, too.
So you portray everything SO well. I was able to get all of that from your story.
I also love the Sesshoumaru/Inuyasha interaction. Just seeing Inuyasha with Sesshoumaru... it's almost like Inuyasha is slowly healing Sesshoumaru. And Sesshoumaru is being so awesome, too, when he comes to Inuyasha's defense.
In this latest chapter, I can't help but wonder what the next chapter will bring. Will Inutaisho walk in on the two sleeping together? If so, what will his reaction be? Will Inutaisho not walk in on them, but instead see Inuyasha still hurt from Tsukoyoko the next day, and smell Sesshoumaru on him? If so, will he freak out and hurt Sesshoumaru? Or will nothing happen? Or, even more exciting, will it be something between Sesshoumaru and Tsukoyoko, and how that guy deals with Sesshoumaru in training? Will Tsukoyoko go after Inuyasha again, and will Sesshoumaru hold to his threat? So many questions, and no chapter yet.
I can only hope that you do update sometime. Again, this is an amazing story, and I really hope that you continue on writing it.
Thanks for writing!
