Wow. I loved your "Notes" and "In Hiding" and "Psychological Telephone Counseling," as I've expressed in other reviews "), but this one is quite different and very interesting. I never considered this angle (or heard of it either). What if you're right? What if James was an arrogant jerk all his life? That would be quite appropriate, I think. And Harry would, I agree, be more likely to risk his life to save Snape than James would be. And I like the fact that you had Snape invent the Wolfsbane potion, and that you let him cry at the realization that his tormenters had actually tried to kill him. There aren't all that many times when it seems right to have Snape cry, but you judged it perfectly in making this one of them. I love your Snape stories! I plan to read "Oddball Pride," but I'm going to wait till I have time to sit and read all thirty+ chapter in one delicious Snapey gulp! Thanks for writing such great stories about the greatest character JKR has yet provided us with: Professor Severus Snape. Keep it up!

Very interesting, and no, I never thought of this at all, although it does make a lot of sense. Part of me wants a continuation of this (how would adult Snape feel if he found out it was Harry, not James, who saved his life - he'd probably resent Harry more than ever). But I can understand just leaving it as it is.
