I've read the rest of the series . . . and I really don't see how this connects at all. In this, ELLADAN is Aragorn's sworn protector, and has vowed to care for him. No one else seems to want the job. Yet Elladan is barely a presence in the rest of the series. All of a sudden, it's all Elrond, and ELROND raising Estel.

It doesn't seem to fit.

This is an intersting start. I like your writing style and the character interaction is well done. You also seem to know a fair ammount about horses. Too often authors have equines in their stores but don't know how to express them correctly. Way to go! I look forward to more.
