Hmm, intriguing. Poor lil' Tommy Anderson, always getting in trouble! Who is speaking through the sunflower? Seems like the Architect or the Oracle, though why would they be talking to lil' Thomas via a plant? And why would they be messing with is little head like that?!

Later that week, Thomas and his mother went to the dentist's office for a routine check-up. After the pelican flew through the window and the fish attacked the dentist's niece, all heck broke loose and Thomas seemed to have reached a verdict: The world ain't right... not by a longshot.

I love this! The sunflower idea is wonderful, and the ending is great. I like the line about fulfilling its purpose for the day, heh.

Great story. A little "simplicity," as you put it, is not a bad thing. In my opinion, anywho.
