RavenLady 2005-04-29 . chapter 1
Very good. Smoothly written, sweet and with an interesting neglected subject. Wonder of wonders, it's an Orodreth story! This is one of three or something.

This is very nice! You should really write much more of this...
Wild Iris 2003-12-01 . chapter 1
A charming tale of young people turning the tables on their elders. I really enjoyed the blend of humour and seriousness, especially this line: 'So taken was he with the lady that he forgot to eat and scarcely noticed the never to be repeated duet of Maglor and Daeron.' Fantastic!
I was interested, too, in the nod you gave to the political knock-ons of clandestine marriage among the nobility - something I've been interested in since studying Henry 8th.
Ithilwen of Himring 2003-11-02 . chapter 1
Very sweet, and wonderfully written, as always.

Yes! Another good interpretatieve piece of fanfiction, managing to combine two different (but related) notions from the Laws & Customs essay. And giving his wife the name originally intended for Finrod's queen strikes me as something Tolkien could have done.
I like your portrayal of Orodreth; he really comes alive here. The scene with Fingon, Angrod and Edhellos was very funny, and Meril is wonderful - I bet Gil-galad took after her.

Again a good story you’ve written. So very romantic *sighs*
I specially appreciated that you mentioned Orodreth as Gil Galad’s father (though we did learn about that only from your introduction). Meril is a fine young lady and I would like to see her confronting Angrod and his babbling about the ‚wiser sex‘. ;)
As speaking of ‚wise‘: Obviously you did research into the HoME and the Elvish languages.
Thank you for the nice time I had reading your story. Have an orc-cookie!
Finch 2003-10-31 . chapter 1
A lovely little story, and very plausible . Nice details, such as Elvish women being called 'the wiser sex' (applause!), Angrod 'knowing something of the truth' about Fingon, and Fingon confirming he's desirable. The little twist at the end was wonderful, but I would have liked to see the schemers'reaction!
daw the minstrel 2003-10-30 . chapter 1
I have just been thinking on the question of whether elves always married for love and had concluded, like you, that they sometimes did not. It's very hard to write about a people who are in some ways so idealized and yet committed all the action in the Silmarillion. It seems like such a contradictory picture. But it's that complication that makes the elves so interesting.
Soledad 2003-10-30 . chapter 1
That was very funny! So, the mere fact that Fingon was scheming enough ensured it that Angrod's wife would never agree? I like that.
Seriously Wrong 2003-10-30 . chapter 1
Very sweet and very, very plausable. The character of Orodreth is of great interest to me and I really like this interpretation of how he met his wife.:-)
