^laughs outright^ Did someone seriously accuse you of writing Sues? Or did you just feel like doing this to prove to yourself that you have good characterization skills?
'Cause, really, you do. ^_~ The point is uncontested, in my book. They /occasionally/ have a few Sue-ish traits, as we saw here with Dreadmoon, but they don't show up very often and they're scattered among the different charas, so it's perfectly forgivable.

...I kinda have the silly urge to do something similar to this with a few (^cough^ 30-something! ^cough^) OCs I've been working on for the last few weeks. Only, as they're (sorta) meant to be a unit, I wanna test them together. X3 That'd be stacking the odds against me, I know, but I think it'd be funny just to see what happens.
...They'll probably end up fighting with each other by the end of it. lol
It'd be good practice for getting their personalities straight before I actually write them into anything, though. :3 Plus, if they end up as a "collective Mary Sue" it'll give me a few ideas of what I should change about 'em. ^chuckles^

First, though, I still need to finish reading all your stories. X3 Onward!

I gotta do one of these, cause I'm writing this one fanfic with this one character who just might be a Mary-Sue, but I'm not sure.
Melanie thought she was an independent person, until her sister died and her world practically collapsed. Her whole reason for living now is to protect her sister's kid, Simon.
...
Is it Mary-Sue of her to be an accomplished kick boxer that's kinda out of shape? She kicked Seeker butt temporarily because of it, and knocked out Bumblebee.
...
Crap.
I made a Mary-Sue character, didn't I.
><
I hate it when that happens!
And I really, REALLY hate it when I create a Mary-Sue unconsciously!

Very nice, very funny. But a thought occurs to me: What would the Quintessons do if they found someone GUILTY?!

What I like about Dreadmoon, hm... well, he's an original character that isn't a Mary-Sue, for one. His personality is actually somewhat likable, but he isn't flawless (a rather jealous streak when dealing with Skyfire, for instance). He's someone that Starscream (who is the coolest of the canon characters) can actually talk with, and not insult. Dreadmoon also adds another dimension to Starscream's rather interesting love-life. I think it's rather amusing that every person Starscream trusts is bonded to him. He's obviously the "love him or hate him" type. Dreadmoon actually did something before he met Starscream. He just didn't come out of no where and impress everyone. Not to mention while his job is/was important, he isn't the long-lost prince of a forgotten Transformer sect (further playing into the "not a Mary-sue" catagory.) This also gives him some authority, so it adds to the possibility that he can interact with other higher-ups (though probably just Shockwave most of the time). His primary loyalty is to Starscream, opening up some interesting possibilities. I rather like his xenophobia; it's Dreadmoon's only glaringly large flaw and actually shows his Decepticon nature, as usually you only portray him in interactiion with Starscream, and he obviously isn't going to act like a Decepticon around him (well, at least not show his more Decepticon traits; untrustworthiness and concern only for himself). Oh, and please update your site soon. I'm dying to read more "Other Vengeance."

I think you'd better add the category 'educational' to this story. Reading this made me think a lot about my original characters and realize how 'serty they really are.
Unfortunately, I have never read any of your stories with Dreadmoon or Sway, but I recognized the humor, even though I didn't 'get' all the jokes.
Thanks for writing this Wayward; now, I've got to do some serious thinking about my writing, and hopefully tweek my characters for the better.

That was great. Then again, all the fics that I've read of yours have been great. Keep up the great work. :)

Interesting and of a generally high standard. Well done! This was an enjoyable and amusing piece...much as your other fics were. Keep up the good work!
