Good story - I especially like the detail about the 'hem to tug" - the infamous "Picard maneuver" I've heard it called.
Good detail in the climbing description - I woudl guess you've done some yourself.

This was a wonderful vignette! It's well written and gives a lovely insight into Picard and his history. I particularly liked the mention of Ro as being his 'virtual daughter". Thanks for posting!
