Enndi 2008-10-31 . chapter 121So so so, I've finished. To sum it up: it's worth reading.
First for the problems. There are missing parts of text, wrong wordings, highly improbable events occuring too many times, incomprehensible sentences, tough to follow images. Especially I found it quite not easy to follow Cubbi's achievement in chapter 115. Reading it over seems okay, but probably needs a little polishing, as one wants to read fast through these scenes, when the tension is high.
Also please, use * * * or something to separate scene-switching, it was VERY (and I mean VERY) disturbing at times, to realize I'm reading about a different thing a sentence or two after the scene-change happened. If it weren't for the time-travel markings, I would be much unhappier with the story overally.
Second, I almost dismissed the idea of reading this fic, as it started with talks about loss of the Glen and looked like there's gonna be too much romance to my liking... I wanted a child story. It definitely isn't true to the Gummi Bears from Disney, if I had to categorize, it's (pre-)teen adventure story.
Nevertheless I liked it very much. My dearest Cubbi had his five minutes of glory, what more could I have asked for :) It very well fulfils the adventure genre and it was easy to be taken by the flow of events. Romance was kept at an appropriate level, and even though there were deaths, the main characters were spared of that fate and as such ranks as a good fairy tale to relax at in my book. I'd say give it a shot if you want to leave the adult world for a while.
The time travel was a pleasant surprise, and I'm very glad it was so well incorporated and made use of. Overally the story felt pretty nice and I enjoyed it to the bottom of my heart :)
Even learned how to say "pukrle" in English. |
