abuseNice ending. I'm going to hate myself for saying it, but I really feel like this has been a revolution, that the story has come full circle. The mix of desire and lingering insecurities and distraction of the joy at Miroku and Sango's wedding was fun, keeping me off guard, not knowing what you were going to focus on next within the scene, so much was going on. I'm also glad you included Kikyou in the end, she could have been (was by me sadly) easily forgotten, to the detriment of the finality of this last chapter, but this way it worked well. The Shakespeare was interesting too-who'd have thought Inuyasha would have a thing for poetry? And yet somehow you pulled it off. Nice job, in that, and in the story as a whole. You caught the reality and the emotions admirably, and the plot was engaging enough to keep the story moving throughout the bits of deep, reflective psychological and character development.

abuseKagome's reactions were the best part of this-sincere, dangerous, dark, everything they should have been, I expected them to be, had to be, and more. I'm surprised at Inuyasha's own restraint, but you pulled it off well, even addressing it through Kagome. I think I understand why he did what he did, and you kept it in character in your own way. Nice job, this was quite a climax. I'm still getting shivers from all the emotions involved.

abuseAH!
Awesome, fabulous, marvelous, amazing...That was the best cliffhanger I think I've ever read. And I mean ever. That was
just...so...gaah, I can't describe it well enough in English
without cursing at least a little. I'll settle for japanese/spanish: Sigoi/impresionantisisimo! If only I knew how to type accents and spanish exclamation marks on the computer.

Yeah, I love the ending of this, can you tell?
The Romeo and Juliet thing was fun (the fluff and the humor), Inuyasha's apprehension around Souta and Ji-chan was quite humorous, poor hanyou, but the ending blew everything else
right out of the water. I love cliffhangers in general, but this
one takes the cake above all others.

abuseWell, that's that taken care of. Nice resolution with the jewel, and handling of Kagome's take on her role in Naraku's death. Most would forget the guilt she would feel, focusing only on the relief they themselves felt (understandably) with Naraku finally gone. But of course Kagome would feel guilty about it, even when no one else woudl; she's Kagome after all. You caught her perspective well.

abuseNice ending to this. I was expecting Kagome to be the one to finally get Naraku in the end (both in this fic and the manga, though I'll have to wait a bit more for that), but you pulled it off in a unique way that had me completely off-guard. Great recompense for always being the 'weak one', and the inferiority complex she got from it. Naraku's intentions were another nice touch, connecting her threats in the present even more with those in the past, and adding yet another layer of pathos and horror to the mix.

abuseVery nice job with Kagome's and Kikyou's interactions. You capture their tense, complicated relationship and thoughts and emotions admirably, giving attention to the jealousies, the fears, the doubts, the anger, the logic, and most of all the strain between them, even as Kikyou tries to help her. Kikyou respects her, but that doesn't mean that she likes her, and you conveyed that aspect the best of all. Very nice, I've always shied away from Kikyou in fear of her complexity, doubting my ability to express her complex and subtle and easily misinterpreted nature. It's nice to know that it's possible after all.

abuseNice sequence here. The timing was tricky, with so many things happening and characters interacting all at once, but you managed it splendidly. It was very coherent, and the bits that were somewhat jumbled only emphasized the hectic nature of the conflict, rather than detracting from it by being too confusing for the reader.

ch 11,
abuseNicely done! The juxtaposition of terror and hatred and love is so enticing, so unexpected, and so very, very entertaining and powerful. The mix of the two makes the separate parts all the stronger, the love seem all the more tender even as the fear and pain is all the more horrible. You did a great job with his confession to her (trust her to never believe him, to not even listen to him, the baka) and with the way he came to the realization himself. I never considered the effect of Kikyou asking him his feelings directly, but it certainly worked here.

ch 10,
abuseVery well done. The first scene was a great bit of comedy to lighten the mood (not to mention Inuyasha's particular answer to the problem of them annoying him), and I think you handled Sango's disbelief and confusion and hesitancy nicely-it came off as sincere, but without being to heavy or too light. The discussion at the end between Kagome and Kaede was interesting as well, and you captured Kagome's thought process and doubts perfectly-poor Kaede's fighting a losing battle until Inuyasha lets a bit more feelings out into the open. Generally, nice job with the characters.

abuseIt didn't really build up to it much, and it wasn't worded in the most powerful way, so I'm assuming that Sango's concern isn't especially serious, and that this is a minor cliffhanger at best. Right now I'm foreseeing a Miroku so caught up in lovey-dovey that Sango's panicking, trying to get him to stop and act like himself again...Hey, I can't be a pessimist all of the time. Inuyasha is so great though, she says she wants to go back and he just scoops her up and goes, who cares about anything else! Classic Inuyasha, I loved that bit thrown in. All the emotional stuff seemed awkward coming from his mouth (I'm sure it was ten-fold that for him), so it was nice to touch base with that.

ch 8,
abuseI've been wondering how or when Inuyasha would find out about the notes after she kept it from him the first time...Nice job handling that scene, I expected a fight, but not the aftermath, and the understanding that for once actually came from speaking their minds so freely...I think it really helped them for once, because when they were angry they forgot their inhibitions, and so were finally able to let out some of their thoughts as they'd never allowed themselves to before...You go their characters, reactions, and explanations and motives down perfectly, and the ending was great, unexpected and yet so fitting and hopeful...

ch 7,
abuseHm A much more uplifting chapter than the previous ones (in general) but still fraught with doubts and fears, and the constant threat of his actions should he decide he wanted more, or that she wasn't obeying his blackmail...I'd normally be excited to have Inuyasha going after him, but somehow I feel like this is going to end badly...I think Kagome herself is recovering, and that gives me hope, but it's tempered by the apprehension I feel about Inuyasha-they might just put him on trial instead of the real criminal, now mightn't they...

abuseAgain, the mix of good and bad, but what a difference it does make to start with the bad and end with the good...Remarkable really. This entire study is a study of good and evil, of the turbulent emotions and fragility of the human psyche, and it's everlasting ability to adapt and reorganize even after the spirit itself should have been broken beyond repair. I'm really glad I'm reading this story; it's powerful and meaningful and realistic and right now, it's given me a lot of hope.

abuseInteresting...It certainly adds more tension and drama to the story, and changes it from being just about recovery and reawakening from the initial act...I wouldn't say I enjoyed it, but I appreciated the skill that went into having the chapter be so hopeful and uplifting throughout (not unrealistically so, or so it seemed at the time) and then to have it all crashing down so readily to make things even worse with the last few paragraphs...The juxtaposition of emotions (positive vs. negative) in this is very powerful and only adds to the turmoil. I noticed how every chapter, something hopeful happens, only for something terrible to happen as well, this chapter being a perfect example. Somehow I think, even after realizing that, I still won't escape from the pain of the negative parts, even though I know they're coming. Kind of like a shot in away, but much longer lasting...
