| The General G of K 2007-11-16 ch 1, | abuseOh, wow. This was exactly the kind of fic I needed to read right now. It's odd how I've always been a fan of BTVS, but just recently, I've gotten into Angel, and all of a sudden, my love affair with Mr. Wyndam-Pryce just flares up again, like THAT. But, obviously, on to more important things... This was just beautiful. It was simple, yet elegant, and those really have to be my favorite stories. Characterization was dead on, and your words are just like poetry. Except, unlike anything I've read in English class, I actually under stand it, and I like it very much. Wesley was just so Wesley, and his declaration of love was gorgeous, and Fred's reaction was perfect. In any case, I really, really liked this, and I'm off to read what else you may have written in the Angel fandom. The General |
| Nita 2003-12-28 ch 1, anon. | abuseOh, Storm, I love this. This is one of my favourite things that you've ever written; it's just so completely perfect. I've read it about five times, and felt compelled to review again. Just 'cause. :-) Your characterization in this is so perfect. It's just amazing. Wesley's thoughts, and Fred's dialogue and reactions . . . yes, definitely perfect. You've got such gorgeous lines in here, too. Lots of them stick out in my mind. 'He closes his eyes against the words. Closes his apartment door. He just wants to forget.' That's so heart-wrenching and perfectly Wesley. And Fred's reaction - "You can't just say things like that" - I can hear that so perfectly. And 'Oh, he thinks. She didn't mean that kind of friends.' strikes me as being so completely Wesley. And the last two lines are just perfect. In a really, really heartbreaking way. And you should write more Fred/Wesley fics, because your fics about them make me happy in a way that few things do. Kinda like you and MtP Sirius, perhaps. *ponders* And I'm going to shut up now, because I'm reminding myself eerily of SWMNBR. And I tend to start sentences with 'and' a lot, don't I? And I'm going now. Really. :-) |
| Belligerent-road-pylon 2003-11-14 ch 1, | abuseAw no! THE ANGST! oh the angst!! but you forgot about season four, episode 11: Soulless!! Oh she deffinitly wanted him there. that kiss!! *swoon* more intensity and emotion than all of Fred and Gunn's kisses combined. Great fic. Sad, but stil great. ps. I hate Knox too wesley. We can kill him together. |
| She's a Star 2003-11-14 ch 1, | abuseThere really aren't words to do justice to how beautiful this is. It's so bittersweet and simple and poignant and just heartbreaking. Your characterization's perfect, and the lyrics fit so well, and some of the lines in here are just stunning in their simplicity. 'Knox stares at her like he's in love with her and that's why Wesley hates him.' That one really just gets me. It strikes me as being really poetic, and I can't put my finger on quite why. It just seems so genuine. '"Well, tell me," she says, nudging him slightly. "We're gonna be friends again, right? No secrets." "I love you," he says without meaning to.' That has to be, like, the most stunning proclamation of love I've ever read in my entire life. It's just so perfect and . . . gosh. My heart melts every time I read it, and I feel so bad for poor Wes and . . . This is just beautiful. And I am turning into a blabbering mess. And that is all. |
| lightning bug 2003-11-14 ch 1, | abuseThat was kind of a depressing end. I was hoping for fluff and smoochies, but there were none. .:glares:. Cause, as if we Fresley shippers don't already have enough pain riding on us from "Lineage", now this fic comes up with no happy end. Good job. I enjoyed this. Very well written, and I liked the quotes from "Billy" interspersed everywhere. Write some more. |
| Imzadi 2003-11-14 ch 1, | abuseNext to Lindsey, Wes is my favorite character. I so badly want Wes & Fred to get together, and I hate Joss for pulling them apart. This was a very nice, bittersweet story. Poor, poor Wes! And poor Fred, too. Why can't Fred & Darla have realized what love they were turning their backs on? |
