Ah, the power of stupidity combined with a charismatic grin. The parallel is so true, now that this fic has brought it to my attention. I love the part in near the end, when Shanks was confused about Mihawk not accepting his acceptance of the other's self-invitation.

That's awesome! You caught their characters very well,,although i think instead of roo,ben is shanks' firstmate,,but it doesn't make the story less better at all!XD

This makes me happy. ^_^ Mihawk and Shanks are both such great interesting characters and not enough fanfic writers take advantage of that. I like the way you wrote both of them, it seems very natural that they would've been like this while they were younger and it creates an awesome dynamic that somehow explains their friendship and why they would become crewmates. The explaination of earnestness and naivety in Mihawk was a nice touch and I liked the way Shanks comes across as an older-brother/more mature version of that. Nice writing.

Oh, I really enjoyed that. The way you portrayed Shanks is just wonderful! Is this going to be a one shot? I hope it isn't, even though the date it was submitted suggests that... It's a shame. I'd love to read more of this story, it's so interesting! ^^

I really like this one. The atmosphere and language suit Shanks and Mihawk very well. GOOD JOB!

Wow, great fic! I'm really into this story. Your portrayals of all the characters was excellent and seems really fitting for their younger ages. I also really like that Shanks' ship was sunk, and he and Lucky Roo were just kind of drifting. (We can certainly see his influence on Luffy here). Here's hoping you write some more.
