This is a truly great story. You're very good at showing the inner thoughts of characters.

AWESOME STORY!

Nice attempt at capturing Hermione's feelings over an eventful year. The slightly formal tone seems a good fit for Hermione. And you've captured a lot of details from her observations, including both Ron and Hermione's determination to preserve their friendship.

I'd be curious to see how Hermione's evaulates her owns actions in OoTP - spew, marietta's hex, etc. I mean she made quite a few mistakes and it would have been nice to see her think about those.

I have to point out that I nearly stopped reading after the first paragraph. Phrases such "my heart throbbed sadly", "emerald of his eyes, "green orbs" seem more appropriate in a harlequin heroine than an intellectual witch like Hermione. To me, it is melodramatic and cringe inducing. That sounds harsh, but like I said I nearly hit the back button.

Brilliant story! Are you going to do anything else with it? Oh please do! I love Harry/Hermione. Keep up the good work!

That was amazing. Literally amazing. You obviously have talent for reading characters very carefully and understanding how their minds work and what their personalities are like. Its a good way to start a fic if you are planing on writting more, which i hope you do. It is a pretty nice style you have, and nothing like a bit more of experience to help you polish it. But it is a good narrative story
