I'd have to say that this story is my favorite one by you. It's short, but that's the beauty of it. It's so short, so simple, yet it says so much. Just like the black mages, genomes, and Mikoto - simple at times, laconic at others, but you can derive so much meaning from one word or action or no words at all. This is a wonderful story, and you are a brilliant writer. Keep up the good work.
P.S. This may seem way out in left field, but I'm wondering - is the title of your story a reference to Helen Keller?

Lovely! Mikoto is one of my favorite Genomes, mainly cuz she's the only one with a name. But this seems to take away some of the shrouds of mystery aorund her! Great work!
