That was really good. I always enjoy stories from the villains POV. It shows that there not that bad, more like misunderstood I guess.
I like how you establish the Mystique doesn’t really know who she is. The fact that she's a shape shifter makes her always be some one else. So it would be easy to loss your own identity.

This is a very tender view of Mystique. I like it. It shows that deep down she is still just a person struggling with who and what she is. It adds another dimension to her character.
