This is fascinating and terrifying stuff. In previous years, I would be repulsed at the idea of Wesley turning to the black arts in order to transform himself in this fashion. But after seeing the mess he made of his life and Connor's, I wouldn't put any foolishness past him.

I'm sorry I took so long to get around to this story. It seems that Wesley is starting down a dangerous path, beginning with denial.
Misinterpreting the prophecy was a genuine mistake. But deceiving his friends, kidnapping a child and attacking one of his co-workers was definitely his fault.
Also, he wasn't a sidekick. He was the boss which makes his behavior even more reprehensible. A major decision like this shouldn't have been made without informing his people. How could they trust him after this?
It's a good start, though. One wonders just what Wesley will do to fix the mess he made.
