Man, that rang all too possibly true. Clark isn't the naive kid anymore. After the business with Edge, he might very well choose to cover for himself first of all. Of course, he might just have had a panic attack (panic attacks, and superhuman strength, NOT a good combination), but if he deliberately chose to leave Lex there, that does indeed smack of Lionel. The bad dreams will be worse than any of Lex's. (I also liked "American way, whatever the hell that means." No kidding, Kal-El. Here's hoping he doesn't watch Faux "News.")
