 Malvoint69 2008-05-12 . chapter 1nice fic, great characterization |
 Sprink the Elf 2006-03-14 . chapter 1Very nice. I liked the expansion of two minor-seeming characters into realistic-seeming people. Kind of sad feeling, kind of hopeful feeling.
C2'd to the Quest for Good Yaoi. |
 Saphrin M 2005-09-17 . chapter 1Ahh... *sigh of relief* this was fucking beautiful. You write so smooth. Awesome! :) |
 Black Jester 2005-03-19 . chapter 1This is like a punch-to-the-face powerful. I don't usually go for slash, but damnit, when it's done well it's heartbreaking.
Like this.
I love Setzer and I love Shadow, and this piece is just wonderful; beautiful without falling into purple prose, simple and elegant and I can't picture both of them in my head as clearly as if it was a painting. |
 Stealth Noodle 2004-01-13 . chapter 1This is a very cool little scene. I'd be interested in reading the larger work it comes from, once you get it all organized. :)
There are a lot of things I like here. For one, I like Shadow's "You fall. You hit the ground. You die." Very nice characterization of him, and just nice characterization in general. Setzer is spot-on.
The writing flows smoothly, and the style feels very appropriate for the mood of the scene. I also have a special fondness for the line "[..]reminiscent of another time, another place, and a lot of razor wire" for reasons I can't entirely explain. And I'm trying hard to find something to nipick, but if there are any little errors, they're going too a good a job of hiding from me.
The only thing I could possibly complain about here is the maddening sense that the scene is, as you put in the author's note, just a piece of a bigger story, one that gives context to things like Shadow's ghost-watching ability, Setzer's disease, and how the two characters ended up in some kind of close relationship. I rather dig the idea of Shadow seeing dead people, and I'd like to see it incorporated into a longer work. If the main fic is as high quality as this scene, I'd certainly like to read it.
Again, lovely story, and I hope to see more from you! |
 Save 2003-12-26 . chapter 1Who so little reviews? This is an amazingly well-written fic! You captured everything so perfectly, and the idea itself is wonderful. You should put up that other fic.
A rare pairing, but enjoyable none-the-less. They were both written so well, too. :Sounds of frustration: Not.. enough.. words of praise..
More? Please? |
 Fenice Evangelista 2003-12-21 . chapter 1WHY AM I ONLY THE SECOND TO REVIEW THIS??! *seethes*
I like this short little vignette with Shadow and Setzer (an odd pairing, but it's also been in my mind)... though I wouldn't suspect Setzer to smoke O.o
Well, anyhoo... just stopped to read this and let it reflect on my own nonexistance ^^;;
Sugoi sugoi! Kawaii-ness! |
 Random 2003-12-15 . chapter 1 Intriguing story. I like the way you did Setzer here- unpredictable, wild, a little dangerous perhaps. I've always seen him that way, but few other people seem to. Odd how Shadow can see dead people, I wish you had gone into more detail about it, maybe told us how and why. I take things too literally sometimes, so for about half the fic I was confused about whether or not Setzer and Shadow were actually dead, ghosts or something, but I figured it out in the end. I think you should post that other fic. I'd read it. |
