If only you knew Kain...

Again, we'll just forget the part where Kain is supposed to know what's going to happen to young Raziel and say that that was a particularly awesome scribble (if it could even be called such)!

It's very fulfilling and heart-breaking to see someone write so well, makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when reading it but makes me all jealous and ugly when I think that I can't write nearly well enough to be compared to such a piece.

Kain's threat to remove Raziel's jaw made me laugh out loud. Not a lot of things do that these days. Good work with the description, language and all that.

One part that just made me really uncomfortable was how close you made it appear that Kain got to Raziel. Just made me shiver in a bad way.

That was thrilling! Honestly, I got shivers running up and down my back.

Hm... good. Very good. I wonder if this might have actually happened, but I think I remember Raziel saying Kain only drew the Reaver when he was about to kill someone.
Anyway, this must have been before Kain found the Chronoplast, yes? I wonder, when exactly did he find it? No matter. You are too good at writing these things, but I would like to read more adventures of Lupa and Raziel. Anything planned for the future?

How prophetic was this then?
Woke up thinking about this story this morning, and about Raz's comment that he was always meant to be Kain's right hand . . .
*lies face down on the floor and pounds fists into the carpet*

*melts to the floor* Just a scribble! Just a scribble she says! *oozes away slowly* I wish I could scribble like you. ^_^ You give all that mental insight, make the scene tense & accurate and it's absolutely wonderful- yet it's 'just a scribble'. *falls through a sewer drain. voice echoes from the grate* Now I will stay here and shiver happily, remembering the various bits of tension from that scene.

Absolutely fabulous. I adored it! It's short and sweet, yet carries a strong meaning. Also, very nice touch with the repetition of the, "Better not to question." One of the best I've read up to date.

Oh, I just loved this. You manage to convey so much about their relationship in such a small space, and to imply so much as well. Lots of food for thought in here. Particularly liked the irony of Kain's threat to remove Raziel's jaw.

I don;t think I've ever read anything of yours that was quite so - serious, and where Raz & Kain were quite so ... er . . . marvellous?
Loved the reflective parts about the weapons, and the whole subtle 'who's-the-daddy' thing you've got going on in the background.
Would write a more comprehensive review cos I thought this was fab, but it was Office Party last night and I'm still brain-dead.

to be honest...it's a really good piece of writing...one that I haven't seen here for a long time. I enjoyed every word of it. It's reallyu powerful writing and made me hang to your every word ...*the mummy roars with approval*

Wow! This is really good. I thought the interaction between Kain and Raziel was pretty accurate. I always kind of thought Raziel looked reluctantly subordinate in the Soul Reaver 1 intro. Anyways, it's very well written and I love the descriptions you used. Nice job!

Wow. Very good, very interesting. Are you certain that this was meant to be only a few days before the abyss thing? Because I always got the impression Kain already knew about the whole Raziel/soul reaver thing before he tossed him in. Very good use of ironic forshadowing!

Enjoyed the fic...an interesting prequel to Soul Reaver. As for Kain and Lord Vetinari...m, I have to say that Kain is probably the more evil of the two. Both of them are manipulative sons of guns, but Vetinari seems to have a little more of a conscience than the vampire we love to hate. :) Interesting comparison though...
