Well, regardless of the happy ending, I waver back and forth between having a small amount of sympathy for jack and none at all. All my sympathy is for Sam. Jack continually hurts her - deliberately, and all but called her a ** during their argument, and yet we all know she'll forgive him and take him back. I would like somebody to write a story where Jack really (and I mean really) has to grovel to get her back (which of course, she will).

Anyway read through it again and loved it.
The style is quite different from your usual one but it worked for me.

This was an interesting story with lots of good action. I'm curious about Laira's motives and wished you'd had some more conversation between Sam and Jack at the end. They seemed to make up too quickly.
