I really liked this. I actually agree with you on the status of Artemis and Holly's relationships at the end of The Eternity Code. Since this was written several years ago, I don't know if you have kept up with the books but I do think that we begin to see the beginning of something that at least resembles mutual attraction, though I still admit that Artemis is just a teenage boy.

Really, though, since they are different species, if you get passed that then what does Holly really have to go on other than his passage through puberty to determine his status as an adult since he already is quite mature?

Anyway, I just really liked this and thought that it was an interesting concept. Yearning, but not quite lust, but it being scary how close to two are, and scarier still how close both are to being in love with the very last person on or under the planet that you should be.

I really don't know how many people who were into AF in 2003 still are but I just recently stumbled upon it again and have found that after a long break from it that I appreciate with both old and fresh eyes and vigor.

I know one thing: Holly isn't the only one in tears right now (seriously). It's such a touching story, so beautifully written. The emotions are wonderfully detailed and you have a wonderful sense of description. I found it a great story and Holly was not at all out of character...

This is really good. I especially like the last three lines. It's a nice little one-shot, with just the right amount of angst. The only problem I have is that it leaves me wanting more. ^_^
