It's a very nice ficlet. I liked the way Aredhel encouraged Maeglin to go on especially because it shows her eagerness to get home and playfulness at the same time. And Maeglin's comment on the last gate, that gold didn't make for a very strong gate, is certainly a truism. And Glorfindel as the Warden of the Gate of Gold makes sense. :D Especially since it was the Last Gate at that time.
