I just can't beleiv this story. I cry every time I read it (I've probably read it on seven or eight separate occasions.) there's something so touching about this story. Parts are a bit cliche, but... that's how they should be.

oh, truly heartbreaking. you don't mention Elanor's age, but it would be interesting to see the reactions if she went and told Sam what Frodo said. Or perhaps a part 2 from Sam's point of view?

I was apprehensive about the slash, since a lot of it isnt well done and screws up in characterisation. But this... is very well done. And moreover, it's tinged with the same sort of sadness that hits me everytime I finish the books and movies. And I certainly know what Frodo means about 'wishing he could paint.' I'm the same way. A writer, but not much of an artist. *sighs*
I can just see it, though. The Sunlight on Sam's golden hair, especially. Brilliant work, youre conjuring images, girl! The sign of a wonderful writer. ;)

That was truly sad. I too think that Frodo and Sam are meant for each other *sigh* and your fic shows the reality that they never really do get to be happy together. Quite a depressing thought...

YES! Thank you! Nothing happened! I can sort of identify with Frodo a little, but not in the slash way of course! My best friend got a boy friend, so I kinda know what it's like to hear someone talk about their boyfriend a lot and have him come in the way of things. thanks for writing this. and, thanks for no kisses or stuff.

Breathtakingly beautiful, I must congratulate you on the quality of the writing and the heartwrenching contents. I don't normally read Sam/Frodo but I was drawn to this story for reasons unknown.
I felt tears come to my eyes when I read the line:
But no picture can compare to my real beautiful friend.
It is rare that a story on ff.net capture my emotions like this one has.
