Mrs. Fawkes 2005-04-03 . chapter 1:sniffling: Never before has a poem cased me to get misty eyed. I love it, and am toying with the idea of printing it out so I can read it whenever the mood strikes me, or hang it on my bedroom wall.
I love the way Sirius draws on the ironic fact of what Bella has done to Tonks, her own niece! The start of the emotion is the line; “My body arches backward with the force
Exerted by the crimson flash” I had to gasp when I read this, even though I knew what was going to happen.
Speaking of Moony, Harry, Prongs, and Lily caused such a heart break. His thought of how he failed; “So sorry, Moony-steadfast packmate, loyal brother-
That in my foolishness I would desert you so soon. . . . Oh, Harry, dear son of my heart,
If I have only one regret, it's this,
That I never told you how much your devotion meant,
And how I loved you as my own.
What an error I made in withholding the words, not knowing
I would never have a chance to say them.”
I wanted to shout at the screen when Sirius confessed that he had he had failed again. For, in my mind, he did not fail.
”The fluid ease of the change, and then
Running on four paws through a moonlit forest, canine howls
Joining lupine in a joyful harmony
Accompanied by the swift percussion of hoof-beats on soft, damp earth.” That might be my favorite stanza of the whole piece.
”And Oblivion is born in a whisper.” Sending chills down my spine.
Every time I read something from you, I can’t help but thinking that I love the new one so much better then the last I read, but I have finally come to the conclusion that everything you write has it's own flair to it, making it impossible to pick a favorite.
Please keep writing,
Mrs. Fawkes~
PS- I realized that in my last review of “Dawn Epiphany” I miss-spelled my own pen name! I’ll have to push it off on the fact that I was in a hurry to read more of your work. :-P |
kangaroo 2004-08-26 . chapter 1that was sad. Jeez! too late at night for me to get mopey. Poor old Siri.
It was different to the other two, but I liked it jsut as well. Seemed like the memories Sirius best enjoyed at the end, and his thoughts at that start I like that...kind of the change between his thoughts in the duel...and the 'memory' and heaven type moments he might experience on passing through the veil?
love kangaroo..one more to go. I have loved eveerything (I normally check out my reviewers stuff, but some of it is honestly...not...brill) |
