huh this is deliciously riddled with angst...perfect. The decpetion was well played and ordered, the worry and Iolaus' doubt. the constant chnaging whims of the gods and how seemingly nothing is permament was one of things that bugged me about the series until iolaus actually died and then i practically demanded they bring him back! LOL liked your character interaction and the ease of reading this. cheers

Ahem.

You've got a brilliant imagination, I love how this story played out. And you wrote the characters so well... especially Ares' laugh (I love that laugh!). You have a great grasp of... atmosphere (I think that's the right word), like how you described the animals running away from Herc's feet as he tore through the forest, or how he snapped back branches, forgetting his own strength. Those were nice little touches.

Just one little criticism (constructive, I swear!); try not to use the same word twice in a single paragraph (unless it's for emphasis or in speech), especially adjectives or verbs. If you have to describe two similar actions, try to find different ways of doing it. It can be tough sometimes, but it really pays off.

I look forward to gobbling up the sequel... but I've been putting off bed time long enough for your work! lol

This is such a well written and beautifully touching story. I loved reading it; it was so creative, and well thought out. You potrayed the characters well, keeping them totally in character (a/k/a as the way I think of them, LoLs!)
