Your an wonderful author, I think one of the best on I liked they way you wrote the story as if Hamfast was telling it to one of his children, or someone at the Green Dragon. OMG! That was SO kawaii! I loved it. It is so hard to find Frodo-and-Samness wihtout it getting all slashy, and I REALLY appreciate it when I find something like this! The fact that they're both kids makes it DOUBLY kawaii.

The ages may be slightly off (I did have the math straight in my head at one point in time, lol), I think Frodo was more like 15 when Sam was born, but I may be off and I've fudged ages in my own writing for various reasons. I think that the thing of this being right after Frodo was orphaned makes it slightly more poignant than it might have been otherwise, so you have a good excuse. ^_^

So cute and sweet. Me likes very much! This may sound *very* odd, but it felt like it actually WAS Frodo and Sam-chan, unlike in some of the stories set in the past where they seem out of character. Good job! ^^

I have tears of absolute joy in my eyes(however silly that may sound)! What a wonderful way to tell the story, from the Gaffer's point of view. You kept within his speech pattern extremely well, and I could just hear him speaking as I read. What a beautiful concept your story was based on, and what a touching picture you created. At the end, when he mentioned how it almost looked like Samwise was trying to protect Frodo, I just about cried out loud.

This was very very sweet, and so restful. I loved the last bit when Frodo and baby Sam are sleeping, curled up together.
I particularly enjoyed this line: "An' just takin' one look into 'em, an' you could see exactly what was goin' on inside his head. Never saw no one with eyes like his."
