Wow, that was really great! Thanks for giving me recognition. It almost made me cry, but pheonix knows I don't cry...in front of people anyway. It *is* a lovely fic, but that really was waht Hermione saw. JKR mentioned in an interview that Hermione's greatest fear was of failure, and that makes a lot of sense when you see what she put herself through in PoA. She's not just afraid of failing a test; she's afraid of failure in general. I'm not sure why people have such a hard time accepting that this was it - it totally fits with Hermione's insecurities.
Anyway, I like this fic a lot! It's a nice alternate view of things.
