*applauds* first of all, bravo to your writing style. It's fluid and descriptive and a joy to read. :) But I think what really makes this one come alive for me is the attention to detail - little sounds, little sights that draw you in to look closer at Batman, the city, the people.

being a long time fan of the dark knight ireally enjoyed these stories.who takes over when the batman finally falls? this was well answered in this story. thank you and if you are still writing please write some more. but here is a thought for you, what if the joker had returned the body to the cave?

I'm enjoying this story. It take the traditional hero and while sticking with the familar, it moves into new terrirory.
The plot is sound, charaters developing well and is interesting.

I really like your description of the suit. Specially the cape. I like the touch with the mask being burried with its owner. I like the idea of this new bat being called John, especially since its my name.

very interesting. the change in the batman/comish relationship sounds promising. the old gotham/new gotham is also interesting. jake seems to be taking to his new role quite quickly, but the joking around reminds me more of dick than bruce.
