Nice little story. I like stories written when Steve was younger. It's nice to have the biography filled in. Thanks, Beth Palladino

For some reason, it never occurred to me that there might have been a time when Steve wanted to be a doctor like his dad. I love the way you worked that in. I also like the 'domesticity' of it all--Mom making dinner after a shopping trip where she picked up something special for her son, little sister doing homework, siblings teasing, Dad coming home--it's all so perfectly natural and normal. Who could ever imagine the extrodinary lives father and son are going to lead.

Very nice take on what is coming in Steves' future. Nice jeans! His moms' sickness, walks with his dad and his career as a police officer. Very good. Look forward to many more of these. Jude G.

What a lovely end to a beautiful set of stories. The little bit with Katherine in the kitchen was just so sad, but the rest was just great.
I hope that there may be some more days of Steve's that you will share with us in the future.

Another wonderful story, filling in the gaps left by the series and seeing the genesis of Steve's police career. Superbly done as always.

What a great ending to this series. It gives me a sense of 'rightness' that Steve has gotten over most of his war-memories and is able to reach out to others, doing what he will inevidably be doing for a long time.
Thanks for sharing these with us.

Thanks for the visual imagery of the too tight jeans. Nothing like that to get a girls blood boiling. Though I guess considering Steve's age in this story I would be considered a dirty old woman. I am loving this series of stories. The foreshadowing of Kathryn's illness and the hint of what is to come with Steve and his chosen career. Great job as always.
