Courtney Colver 2008-11-10 . chapter 25
There are no words to describe how much I loved these stories. I am sad that it is over (I've spent like the last 2 weeks reading all of them). I'll miss all the characters, the ones in the Black Sun series the most.

Wow. Terrence seems to have really matured since Fallen Sun. I actually like the way you ended things with Jaea/Jehu/Terrence, because I don't see how things could have worked out any other way. Jehu never seemed right with Carley- I always thought it was obvious that he'd always have feelings for Jaea more and that wouldn't be right to Carley. At the same time though, it makes me worried about Jaea and Terrence's relationship later on down the line because there's bound to be moments of jealousy :\. I really hope you do a one-shot on the three of them, that would be great :) Btw, I adore Terrence, even more than Jehu, cuz he's hilarious and sarcastic and such an arrogant jerk, but underneath it all he's a sweetheart :)
As for January, I find it interesting that she's sort of like the female version of Terrence ;) She's got issues no doubt but i'm glad things worked out with Andrei- oh and I saw pictures from your site, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt huh? Heh.

I like how your characters aren't perfect- Jehu can't help falling for Jaea even if she is technically Terrence's, even though he tries to move on with Carley but finds he can't. Jaea wanted Forest to be Jehu but she gets Terrence instead because things don't always work out the way you want them to. And at the end of Fallen Sun, I have to admit I was disappointed that Forest was Terrence as well, but after reading the 3 stories after it, I love him way more than Jehu ;)
Anyway, I'm sad that the series has finally ended and I won't be seeing my favorite characters again :( Great job on the story, I absolutely loved all of them, this one and Fallen Sun being my favorites though. I really hope you write those one-shots sometime =)

I just finished reading the Black Suns quartet (I found it through your fictionpress site). I really enjoyed reading the stories. I felt like there was great continuing themes through the four stories and how even in their happy moments, there was still almost a dark feel to them. I loved the chapter from Leah's point of view. It was very powerful. I had a great time reading all four stories. This may sound strange, but thank you for spending your time writing them.

Haha. Adulation indeed. Just wanted to ask about the dragon prince and maiden of the witches thingy, could you pm me or something with the full story? I've only touched one of LJ Smith's books so far, and i'm afraid I'm totally clueless on whatever history there is...
Eh? 2007-02-11 . chapter 21
What I don't get is why Orestes has to do the whole hand-to-hand combat with Andrei... why Andrei? Why hand-to-hand combat?

hey
i just wanted to thank you for your commitment towards your stories.
i know its not easy writing, or coming up with new ideas, thinking of characterization, how the plot goes, the works. but you have mananged to do a damn great job and kept readers (and me) coming back for more.
thank you for sharing your wonderful imagination (: it was really really fantastic reading your stories (although they totally distracted me from my exams, haha)
just want to say, great job! and keep on writing! because you are REALLY fantastic.
(but i dont really agree with the ending. but then i see your point on how it cant possibly go another way.. oh well)

good job!

argh! moreta/myrika! (I don't know what to call you.. lol..does your name start with M .. LOL?) You're insane

in a good way ;D

I can't believe it's over!! I'm going to miss the whole crew..I encourage you to write one-shots! LOL. What a story. I'm so glad I came across it even though it was 3/4 done when I even knew there was a Black Sun series. It would be really interesting if you wrote your own original action/adventure fiction. (hint hint. lol).

I loved this story to bits. I still can't get over how many people died. (though, it would be natural). This Epilogue was a good way to summarize the end to a magnficant story. Right now.. I really don't know what to say because I just "can't" believe it's over. Anyway..congratulations in finally completing this story. For you...years of work. For us readers...a pleasure. You worked ** this story (no doubt about it) and we all appreciate all your effort and time you put into this masterpiece. Reading Black Sun was well worth it ;D

take care dear. (smile)

HI there.

I'd just like to say i've read the last 3 of the 4 parts to this series (i didnt realise there was a first part to it till i'd finished the 3rd part)and wanted to express my appreciation. What a great and riveting series it has been to read. I like the fact that you created a story that wasn't all fluff and squeaky happy ending with all the t's crossed. All of your characters came across as individuals and they weren't perfect individuals. So many writers seem afraid of creating weaknesses, flaws or mistakes in their characters. I like it that not everybody was alive at the end and not everybody got what they wanted it creates a good sense of realism and makes your characters more realistic. I must admit every character affected me in different ways but i have come away with a lasting attachment to Moray. THe bittersweet element you wrote into it make it a much more rewarding story to read and you left enough room for questions and further imagination as to where your characters will go next.

I firmly believe that a good story doesn't answer every question, but answers just enough that you are left wondering at the end. Good luck with your future writing, i hope to see more from you :).

I love this ending! I love both Jehu and Forest (sounds much better than Terrence, btw) and I'm not even going to analyse and pick apart whatever future they will have as a threesome. It would be very unfair to both Jehu and Carley if they ended up together and I don't think she understands Jehu as well as Jaea anyway. And also, Jehu and Forest are, in a way, one person. With their connection and all. I'm glad that there will be more one-shots on these characters, coz I love them all so much. They are so well-developed and unique that I'm sure it's hard for you to let go of them. I'm also happy for January and Andrei, Leah and Orestes (their romance is one big story of their own), and all the other couples and characters. Felicia Blackthorn didn't really have a clear 'ending' even though you had intended to wrap up most of the loose strings.

Still, this is a great ending to this wonderful and action-packed series that had really captured my heart. Keep writing!

nice

firstly, i'd like to say that i'm a little sad, when i started reading l.j smith, the black sun series (along with the rome trilogy) were one of the first ones that i read, and know that its finished, its saddening, but on that note

it was an amazing read throughout the entire 4, i find it wierd myself that other (so called weaker, and by weaker, i mean, non-dragon) characters lost their partners and survived, i mean, jan lost hugh and guage (not sure on spelling mind you) 2 of them, and survived, yet orestes didn't, wierd, but in a way, i think its understandable as the amount of times he felt her live/die without knowing her. . . .

your final author comments were right on, it is entirely bittersweet, they finally bring down the bastard black sun (which was great hating them as well you know) but not without the casualties, and heartache, all of it, entirely bittersweet

so your planning on writing something else that involves these characters? or is it just carley? please keep us humble fans posted, and not waiting for ever for the newest and most recent

as always, an amazing read, and i for one am deffinately looking forward to your next work. . . .

It's bittersweet, I finally know how it ends, but I don't want it to end. I was a bit surprised with the ending with Jaea/Terrence/Jehu, but after thinking about it, it's probably for the best. Keep writing.

Wow..

I like the way you left things with Jaea, Jehu, and Terrence. All three of them together like that.. well it opens a lot of doors and gives them all a future together. Yeah, like you said, this series was really bittersweet, but I loved it. I'll definitely miss it! Think you'll write any more LJS fanfiction once you finish Rome? Anyways, your writing is amazing and it has definitely matured as this series went along. This epilogue was a great culmination. :)
