I absolutely LOVE this story! (and I've only read the first chapter, which must be saying something...*winks*) XD By the way, I totally agree with your comment about history in the opening line *nods* So true,as my history lessons have taught me. I found the premise of your story very interesting.

I like how the characters were nicely in-character; it was particularly enjoyable to read Naruto's POV - i.e. his thoughts about Sakura, his whining about the middle bed. Poor, poor Naruto. Liked your take on Sasuke and Naruto's embarrassing "situation". Someone up there really must be laughing at him...LOL. I also liked how you balanced the humour with more serious moments on the price of war. Poor Tenten...

In short, I'm really eager to see how this story will unfold...

Oh, my. I had this elaborate plan in my head so I'd force myself to only read half of a chappie a day, but, well, it failed. At least I managed to hold out for an entire day after starting this.
BUT NOW IT'S OVER!! NOO!!
Please...please...you must update...before it's too late! (as in, I spontaneously combust from lack of--of...well, how can I describe this? It's ADORABLE, i.e. the scenes between Sasuke and Naruto--which actually have moved at, like, the perfect pace for my inner-slash-fangirl, who adores the way their friendship is developed and will LOVE the way their relationship starts (she can tell)--it's funny, i.e. Shikamaru's perspective--'cause my inner-slash-fangirl (hearby referred to as ISF) LOVES SHIKAMARU FROM HER TOENAILS TO HER HAIR!! (insert squeal here)--and Sasuke/Naruto's fights are funny as well (dueling with toothbrushes!), it's dramatic-in-a-NON-corny-cliche-or-generic-way--though I haven't had much experience in dramatic fics; normally I stick to crack/humor/lurve. This one converted me though! Go drama! As long as there's lurve too, though. ISF would kill me (yeah, from the inside somehow) if I didn't give her her daily dosage of yaoi ;)--AND (if all that wasn't enough) it deals with effectsy-thingys of war--i.e., resorting to desperate measures to finish it and leaders' deliberations on whether or not they made the right choices and bonding of soldiers (in more ways than one *snicker*)--and finally, it has Gaara. PERFECT! You'll do him wonderful justice, I can tell)
So, yeah. Update please! I know, I know, one rambling review won't make you but--hang on--185 will! Right? Reviews are love!
One more thing. I love how perspectives switch around, like during the fight with Itachi when we'd hear a paragraph in Naruto's than Sasuke's than Sakura's point of view. It wasn't confusing at all for me, that's not why I'm mentioning it, what it showed was how they're soldiers (of a sort. Ninjas count as soldiers) and trained to think and act as a unit. It's really cool!
So (sorry, this review is getting long; last thing, I promise!) how soon before the slashiness starts? It's pretty close to developing, right? Baby slash words in the air between Naru/Sasu (that sounded weird)? Plus, everyone else--wtf the kyuubi even?!? :)--seems to know what's gonna go on between them, soon Sasuke will figure it out...HA! I can just picture Sasuke finally realizing he's in love with Naruto and freaking out for weeks like "does he luv me bac will he think im gross 'cuz im gay is he gay omfg im so freaked out?!!?" and Naruto finally realizing what HE feels and just jumping on Sasuke as soon as he figures it out. M...Naruto on top of Sasuke...(get back inside ISF, we need to leave a coherent and not-perverted review here!)

I was pretty sure I had been on your profile before, read your stories and liked them no less - but you have an unmatched talent for writing that I have yet to see in anyone but a select few writers on this site. I want you to (though you sure don't have to take orders from me.) continue this story as soon as possible, and you're making this very real and just one of the best stories I have ever read. Great job. Don't be so apathetic (although it does make for nice, short author note's) and take a lot of pride in your work because, believe me, you - and your stories - deserve it.

Will the curse seal and Orochimaru also come up in this story? Or will it just be Itachi?
I like how their relationship is developing gradually, not like with other fics where its a sudden 'I'm in love with him', at the very start. I liked Ino's attempts at making Sakura feel better, with everything that's happened.
Will this eventually follow the basic plot of the manga? With the Third being killed, and Tsunade becoming the next Hokage? Or will this be edited to fit a shorter outline?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next chapter, please update soon. ^_^
