i just love this so much and i'm glad you are continuing to write even after all these years.

normally i HATE character deaths but even though i was sad about Xu and Irvine you wrote it in such a way that it was natural and not for the shock factor or towards any bias towards the character themselves. and i was sad when girl with pigtail... er I mean your Brie died. I was starting to really like her. And Archer too.


i also like how you've included people like Nida, the conceited SeeD, and some other well known garden faces without names into the action!

the person i'm hoping to see bounce back is Zell. it's so painful seeing him so down in the dumps. i miss him haha

Mkay so I definitely don't mean for this to sound like any sort of insult but...yes, the re-write does much better justice to your talent than before! Ah I just love this story so much. I could read it over and over all day long!

And I for one disagree that killing off Irvine was a bad move. I mean these are military trained mercinaries and casualties are going to happen. I found that it was believable and horribly tragic (and by horrible, I mean wonderful because I love tragedy). Maybe I'm biased because I sort of don't like Irvine and I'm a big fan of dark, twisty, and sad but I rather liked that touch.

An interesting chapter, with some very sweet moments between Squall and Selphie.

One complaint I have is your overuse of strong language. It's easy to get drawn into the story, it being such a rich world that you've created. However, every time I see someone drop the F-word into casual conversation, it's like being jerked right out of the story. It's just so against the established characters. I know that it's fanfiction, that's it's a different world, etc. But diverging too much from canon material, especially with characters, can end very badly. I don't want that to happen, as I really enjoy this story.

I do think your "Kill Em All approach" may be going overboard. Xu was one thing, she was never a very important character. But killing off Irvine was... well, a little mean spirited. Not to mention it really came out of nowhere. His last fight wasn't even really a fight. I understand that combat writing may not be your forté, but I don't think someone capable of fighting on par with giant dinosaurs, dragons, ancient weapons, and the evil that is tonberry, would go down so easily.

Also, you used Aura wrong in an earlier chapter. Aura lets you activate Limit Breaks without low HP. It doesn't reduce damage. That's Protect, for Physical attacks, and Shell, for Magical.

Yeah! New Chapter! I definitely noticed that your writing has improved a lot. If you re-write the beginning, I welcome the excuse to re-read this fic! Happy writing!

I don't think I've ever reviewed this before and if I haven't I feel so guilty about it. This masterpeice of fanfiction works has kept me hooked through the highs and lows so far. I respect your staying power for telling such a wonderful story and admire your narrative skills.
Not to mention this fic is Squalphie and that is a rare breed of fiction that I love.

So I dunno why I didn't review the day you published Ch. 13 but I'm here now to again gush over your story! And I don't gush often just so you know.

First off, despite the dark turn your story has taken, your humor shines through beautifully!! I laughed for DAYS the first time I read this through and came across Seifer's "THIS IS HYNE" joke. I could practically hear him. And Squall has for a while now been affectionately knows as Commando in our household.

Second...Did I mention in my last review your amazing attention to detail? Just the little things I've noticed that most other authors wouldn't take the time to notice in the game. That shows real dedication and is something I greatly respect.

Thrid, you've been able to capture the character's personas very well, Selphie especially. Keep up the good work! Can't wait for the next chapter!

I just finished reading the last chapter and I must say you made me cry when Irvine died (although I don't like him with Selphie :P).. and I hate that Selphie & Squall are having a tough time in their relationship :( Hopefully it gets better in the next chapter and I hope Selphie returns to her cheery mood soon! x) < And Raijin! Ah, poor guy! I hope he goes back to the gang...
On another note, I do love where this story is heading! I can't wait till you update so I can read more awesome goodness! o:

This story is an amazing continuation and you've had the courage to kill of established characters and the skill to make it work. The situation these characters are in is mysterious, scary and adictive. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see Squall and Selphie get there happily ever after but with the curves you've hit us with so far I'm not sure I'd bet on it. Which is a shame as there aren't enough Squall/Selphie fics out there. Either way I'm along for the ride and will see it out to the end.

Anyway I really glad you decided to write another chapter! I used to be a hardcore FF8 fan and then took a long...4-5 year hiatus. I've just gotten back into it though and oddly enough, I remember reading this story when I first got into it! It's great that it's still around. I love your writing style and hope you continue with it!

wow, what a powerful story... i cried when seifer cried... write more... ^^ i wonder what happened to ciel? i think it was too fast that she died that way... although there are enough twists in this story to fill a trilogy-length novel...

I must admit, FF.N is severely lacking in good Squalphies with such depth and, dare I say, good grammar. I've stumbled upon a real gem here and I can't wait for more chapters. I have to say I was pleased to see some subtle similarities to my own Squalphie hiding in a few of your chapters. It made me feel less crazy. =3

PS. Good on ya for getting rid of Irvine. I'm of the opinion that he's kind of a douche.
