Tulip Proudfoot 2005-06-23 . chapter 1Lovely story. I have also added a touch of silver to Frodo's chestnut locks to indicate a lessening of the Ring's power, and a restoration of normal aging. This little story was a delight to read. |
illyria-pffyffin 2004-04-18 . chapter 1Beautiful and extremely well-written. I especially love Sam's thought as he cut Frodo's forelock and the banter with Pip at the end. It's a treat to read. Thank you. |
 Merlynnod 2004-04-18 . chapter 1What a lovely story! :D
I really like the way you took such a simple thing as a haircut, and showed the depth of what Frodo and Sam had been through. Such an everyday occurance, but how those things will never be the same for them again.
And the line "he came to a place where the sable locks were threaded with silver" is beautifully written. :)
Wonderful story! :D |
Aratlithiel1 2004-02-23 . chapter 1See? I'm late but I get here eventually. Oh, what lovely tale you've spun here. The play on silver and sable was brilliant. Very poingnant, indeed. Wonderful job! |
rabidsamfan 2004-02-18 . chapter 1Nice. As you said, Humor and Angst, and very well blended too. I loved Sam catching himself when he saw the silver hair. But I also loved the gentle teasing everyone is giving each other. And Sam being sick of having people serve him is perfect! (Though not the food, of course.) Lovely. |
Frodo Silverlune 2004-02-17 . chapter 1very cool! well written and an enjoyable read! cute and fluffy, very hobbity. excellent job |
pwsbpanthael 2004-02-17 . chapter 1 Lovely. You take a mundane task and weave an emotional tapestry with it. Great use of humor to brighten what has often been, in fanon, a fairly glum scenario: Frodo's condition after the destruction of the Ring. Just the barest hint of what is to come, with Sam's reaction to that silver thread amidst the sable. I'll be looking for more of your work. Thanks for sharing. |
Shire Baggins 2004-02-16 . chapter 1 That was lovely! You captured their personalities perfectly! Any more haircut stories? |
