Lovely story. I have also added a touch of silver to Frodo's chestnut locks to indicate a lessening of the Ring's power, and a restoration of normal aging. This little story was a delight to read.

I really like the way you took such a simple thing as a haircut, and showed the depth of what Frodo and Sam had been through. Such an everyday occurance, but how those things will never be the same for them again.
And the line "he came to a place where the sable locks were threaded with silver" is beautifully written. :)

Nice. As you said, Humor and Angst, and very well blended too. I loved Sam catching himself when he saw the silver hair. But I also loved the gentle teasing everyone is giving each other. And Sam being sick of having people serve him is perfect! (Though not the food, of course.) Lovely.

Lovely. You take a mundane task and weave an emotional tapestry with it. Great use of humor to brighten what has often been, in fanon, a fairly glum scenario: Frodo's condition after the destruction of the Ring. Just the barest hint of what is to come, with Sam's reaction to that silver thread amidst the sable. I'll be looking for more of your work. Thanks for sharing.
