An excellent beginning. thanks for the prologue, even though I have read the Silmarillion a few times, it's helpful to have a brief overview. This is a fascinating chapter of Middle Earth's history, filled with betrayal, duplicity, corruption... the downfall of the northern kingdoms has always intrigued me. I'm so glad you have chosen to write about it!
Your style seems quite formal, very "tolkien-esque" which I think is appropriate for this type of story. I'm bookmarking this!
