Don't know why I haven't read this wonderful -narrated story before. Though Maeglin's not my favourite character, I am often fascinated by fanfics written about him ^^ (including yours, indeed)

'But even in this I had my triumph: your eyes were cold and hard and full of hate, but for once your gaze was mine.'
Ow, ow, owowow. Maeglin's fate always gets me, and this is a completely believable twist upon the tale.
One wee typo, though: stweard

An interesting twist on Maeglin's story, and just as likely to be true as the one Tolkien wrote down. I've really enjoyed this.

Wow, this was cool beans. Very well written and believable. Except for one part: did they have Uruks at that time? I thought those didn't come along until the Third Age... ah well. The rest of the story is so good that one possible inconsistency is nothing. GOOD JOB!

Things not spoken are often most bitterly remembered *nod* Poor Maeglin...I liked the first person POV used in this.
And, to sum up my first reaction:
