I adore the twist at the end, too, and the last line... chilling. I think I'm gonna put this on 'Mexico and Mariachis'. Keep up the good work!

Nicely done - it's well written, with a loud Sands attitude, and it stands strongly enough as its own thing, even without the little trick.

I'm so glad to see you writing in this fandom again! You have such a lovely writing style, and a wonderfully dark Sands "voice." I really like his self-loathing here.
