x-Hyuuga-x 2009-10-20 . chapter 3lmao, did inuyasha say "** you"?? haha. <that word might not come out, I forget. I haven't written a review in so long that I'm unsure if they * it out or not ^_^ ANYWHOO!!
The fact that I haven't written a review in so long and the fact that you're the first in a WHILE means great things for you, my friend. I know this review is pointless...since you're done...and you'll probably never see this anyway. But I was just thinkin; 370 reviews?? what a load of poo. NOT enough. so i decided to fix that. obviously people aren't doing their share. we write, they review, it's not hard. and this is SO deserving of at least 10 reviews considering what a well-written, 28 chapter story this is. silly, really.
haha, so if i haven't said it, you're great. it's nice to see we still have some talent on this often-** site. :) or maybe not..this was last updated in 05...so yeah, you're gone :) hopefully not, though. WE NEED YOU!! lol |
 hikari hime 73 2008-11-15 . chapter 28Hello
I just read the two stories in one sitting... well, almost, I had to stop to eat and sleep... and, well, live a little too, but I think you get my meaning lol
I was delighted by all of it, from the beginning to the end. You characterisations are excellent, your writing is awesome, and your OCs... I rarely get attached to original characters, but I LOVED Kanaye (don't tell him this, his ego is big enough as it is lol) and the romance story between him and Zadi. XD
I'll admit to not being a Sess/Rin fan usually, but your story was so well written that I got caught, and I'm grateful I've found it and read it till the end.
Thank you for the nice journey. XD

Definitely a 10/10!!I don't know if like Harry Potter at all...but the only other author that reminds me of your amazing writing and humor is a writer called "PinkyBrown" who write one of my favorite fanfiction called "6 ft of Ginger Idiot" /s/3637489/1/Six_Foot_Of_Ginger_Idiot. Felling 2008-08-19 . chapter 28Wow. I have never been so blown away by a story. :O
Ive read RP and WS and I'm telling you now it was amazing. Everything you wrote was simply amazing. I love your sense of humor. xD I couldn't stop laughing for some reason. o_o
I'm a giant fan of SessxRin so I was totally in love with how much Romance you managed to shove in there. xD
After a few chapters I started to fall in love with Zadi and Kanaye also and I was so sad they weren't real characters. xD
I love Kanaye the most. :P
I will admit I'm sad to have finished both stories but I'm happy to find this amazing story. I had to let you know I love your writing in every way possible. Sweat to god. Please keep it up. Thanks for the amazing read.

Vespera 2008-08-12 . chapter 28Very nice sequel to “Reflected Past.” It’s easy to see how your writing has matured, as the characters and plot has become more nuanced and subtle than the first one. You established a wonderful threat with the Northern dogs, and while this was just as personal a battle as Ashrem was, it was an entirely different kind of war. It was truly a war, with all the implications. Sesshomaru acted as a Lord of the West, dealing with the political intrigue as only he could. And you balanced all the varying threads so well; the parallels between the families of the Western and Northern dogs, the markedly different dynamics in Sesshomaru/Rin, Inuyasha/Kagome, and Kanaye/Zadi’s relationships, the slow, subtle changes in all the characters as the plot progressed… very well crafted throughout.
I think the strongest aspect of “War’s Shadow” is that you managed to give all of your original characters a thoroughly unique role, personality, and voice. At first, when I saw the character list, I wondered if it was really necessary to crowd this story with so many non-canon faces. For instance, did Eizan really need to have three sons, as well as a daughter? At first, it just felt like there were too many names to keep straight, but as the plot progressed, it turned out he did; they were all so completely different, and they each served a different purpose. They played different parts in the war, drew out different emotions from their father and Sesshomaru, and left varying marks in the world through their deaths; to remove any one of them would’ve drastically changed the story.
You also have made a “career” of sorts out of wringing credible change out of just about any character. Sesshomaru, Rin – and particularly Kanaye and Elif – veritably transformed within the scope of this story, but the progression of their characters felt so natural that the reader only notices how completely stunning the change was by going back and reading the first appearances of these characters. It takes notable skill to conceive the key plot devices and dialogue that brings about such dynamic change without making the story feel like one big plot device to bring about a predetermined conclusion (i.e. a “happily ever after” for an unlikely couple).
Now, reading “War’s Shadow” does further cement one criticism I had of “Reflected Past” that I mentioned in that review – the epilogue of “Reflected Past” really felt misplaced. This is only more pronounced because even after “War’s Shadow,” all the story up to that epilogue still hasn’t been told. Plus, since we knew from RP’s epilogue that Ashitera was Sesshomaru and Rin’s adopted daughter, readers knew her eventual fate as soon as we were introduced to her character, so we could also assume some fairly accurate fates for the rest of Eizan’s family. I know “Reflected Past” is undergoing a revision, and that might be a good avenue to consider a different Epilogue, one perhaps tying only the threads specific to that story, and carving off the existing Epilogue as a spoiler-laden stand-alone that takes place in the distant future. Just a thought. |
crystal teardrops 2008-06-22 . chapter 28You have the best grasp of Sesshomaru and Rin's relationship out of all the authors of ff. I'm amazed at how well you wrote it without making Sessh seem ooc. Truly amazing! Well, I'm off to inspect some of your other work now! Congradulations on the completion of this story! |
Anakin 2008-05-17 . chapter 28Absolutely wonderful. So, so well written. There were moments between Sesshoumaru and Rin that were utterly breathtaking, so moving and enthralling. So good. Well done! |
 Hinatinha 2008-04-10 . chapter 1Another wonderful fic |
Lifestyle 2007-10-26 . chapter 7' "You’ll stay here tonight to sleep.”
“And where will you be?” she asked, wondering in a moment of fear if he was intending to leave her there.
“I’ll be with you," '
Ahh... you tug at my heartstrings! You certainly know how to touch people's hearts :)
Love it. Absolutely love it! |
Bob Da Peach 2007-09-16 . chapter 28argh i just spent 2 weeks reading non stop reflected past and then wars shadow. I couldnt stop!
yeh well anyways ... its really good and i became overly obsessed with it (yes that is a good thing)this is a joint review coz its for rp as well :D
:D :D :D I LOVED THEM! :D :D :D |
Angaloth 2007-05-17 . chapter 28And then of course, I reread it again and realize that I answered my own question. It is 2am in the morning, so I suppose I am more tired than I thought. She had been speaking Japanese, although from his comment and the placement of "Onegai", and the fact that my brain skipped over the second half of his sentence, made it confusing to me. Sorry about that. |
Angaloth 2007-05-17 . chapter 27I know I've already reviewed this story, maybe even this chapter...but I was rereading it and I came across something that somewhat confused me. Maybe I'm just reading it wrong, but what language has Zadi been speaking to Kanaye while he was visiting her? Was she speaking Japanese the whole time, or something else? I only ask because of the comment Kanaye makes while she is applying the makeup to his face. I know that you sometimes use the Japanese words, but the placement of it and his comment at that time made is seemt to me as if she hadn't been speaking Japanese before that moment. But Kanaye canot understand her language, and you say that after he made that comment, she slips into her own tongue. I am assuming that she had been speaking his language throughout the entire thing, but I don't remember him ever mentioning her accent before this moment.
Just an odd and somewhat random observation/question. I'm also looking forward to the next chapter of the Serpent's Curse. Hope you did/doing well on your finals. : D |
michie123 2006-12-24 . chapter 28This story was too good. You should continue it. Especially with the lives of Kanaye and Sashe. Well done! |
Sandpit 2006-12-16 . chapter 28 I absolutely love how you constructed a distinct personality for each of the characters both in this fic and in RP. Like, many times when Sessh said something I had to stop and marvel at how his words were exactly how and what I think he would say in the manga. It was great to see his biting, dark sense of humor too.
And holy Molly, talk about character development! Everyone got their moments. I didn't like Sashe at first bc she seemed so stupidly naive and weak-willed. Then as the story went on more and more of her character was revealed, and I actually liked her a lot by the end. Same with Elif. I even wished Sessh would be kinder to her by the later chapters.
I still don't like Zadi though. I thought she was far too powerful and perfect. It wasn't that I thought she was unbelievable, but she didn't fit into the IY universe nearly as well as the other OCs like Eizan and Kanaye IMHO.
Great job on plotting out such a good story *and* injecting just the right amount of romance into it (always hard with us demanding fangirls, I know!) Sorry for the long review but I liked it too much! =) |
Teela 2006-12-09 . chapter 1 So I have already said how amazing your stories are in the Reflected past review so I just put what I liked in War's shadow particularly. There are many things but most of all there is the Kanaye and Zadi. This is for the very first time that I liked the made up characters more than all original I swear. They are such amazing personalities that I was always looking forward to their next encounter. And Kanaye was just perfect I truly loved his personality and quite undrestand Zadi's affection for him. I even liked him more that Sesshoumaru which says much. And as I said before I loved you vision of SessRin especialy their slow proces of coming in to happy family mode. And you are perfect at making new characters as well as putting interesting background for Inu and Sess's family. I enjoyed all the politics in your story and how complicated the connections between noble lineages were. And last but not least is your ability to show different kinds of character's sense of humor like the clever and dark of Sesshoumaru wicked and perverted of Kanaye and scornful of Inuyasha. And since only clever person can wrote the clever quotes I admire your intelect. There were always surprising situation no cliché no awkwardness. I would love if you made another story or just some epilogue about how Sesshoumaru finally accidentaly or not gave in an create his hanyou and if the same fate found his uncle.
If there is some flaw in both stories in my point of view - it's lack of lemons. Well yes I'm bit perverted but with your ability to write I would like to read loving scenes. But even what you show was excellent so don't worry much about that I liked it anyway.
So I hope you will write some more and wish you much inspiration as well as time. Thanks for entertaining me and filling my time with the wornderful stories.
PS: I'm sorry for my english ^^; |
