I love this story, it really moved me. My favorite character is Dumbledore, and I bet you can imagine how many arguments I've had over whether Dumbledore was a manipulative a-hole, or someone who really and truly cared for Harry, who just happened to make mistakes, and who just happened to be as human as the rest of them.

Waouh! It was really well done. Very touching. Nearly made me cry there you know ;) I found that Dumbledore, in particular, was completely awesome. First, because I am so not a fan of Manipulative!Dumbledore. I love the old man. And I *know* he isn't some manipulative son of a...you know. ^^ Anyways.

“I’m asking,” the Headmaster gripped his hands so tightly that it pierced through his numbed, hazed state. “I’m asking, because I’m merely an old man who found a boy who got into his heart. I am asking because I love you Harry, and I cannot lose you. Please,” he added brokenly.

“I’m sure,” Dumbledore managed a smile through his own tears which he didn’t bother to wipe away. “I don’t know how myself but you managed to worm your way into this lonely man’s heart and I’m afraid you won’t be leaving anytime soon.”

These sentences were just...wow. I mean, they could have been in the books. They rang very true. I just felt like I was hearing *Dumbledore* here. Like, the "real" one you know ;)

So yeah...ahem...really great one-shot. This is going on my favorites.

How sweet...I can't help but feel sorry for Dumbledore. Yeah, Harry's being starved by his family, but its Dumbledore, who claims that he loves Harry, that finds him in this sad state. I REALLY feels sorry for the old man...

Very, very well done. I love how you included Harry's angst and hate at the world (mostly himself), and still included a nice Dumbledore. Fabulous. I loved it.

So many people write a nasty Dumbledore and I read those stories and like but I still think that the 'real' Dumbledore is how you portrayed him: human both in his love and his mistakes. Awesome job!
